diversity screenwriting fellowship
The fellowship is open to all minority writers as well as writers (Caucasian writers included) whose scripts feature diversity-themed subject matter. Examples include Straight Outta Compton, Woman on Top, Moonlight, Eat Drink Man Woman. If you’re not sure if your script qualifies, contact us at entry@writers-for-writers.
Selected Fellows will be notified of acceptance within four-six weeks of their submission. Mentors will be linked to selected fellows based on mentor’s availability and genre choice. We have an expanding list of mentors who have major motion pictures and/or written top-rated television series. It’s a very experienced group and they are committed to paying it forward in helping aspiring professional writers to break into the industry.
Writers can submit up to three pieces of material including screenplays, television pilots, treatments, novels, and short stories. Writers are also encouraged to submit a CV/bio as well as a mission statement.
